Red, White and Black

Striped crop top via Urban Outfitters // High waisted skirt via Brandy Melville

As of late, I’ve been swinging in the effortless vibe of summer and I’ve been investing into statement pieces that can still sprinkle glamorous minimalism into the juxtaposition. I’ve been so in love with this top by Stone Cold Fox, granted, I actually wasn’t sure how to wear it at first, but it had a unique silhouette that screamed “Style me, Mariel. I dare you.”
What can I say? I love the challenge.

Also, finals being over = hiatus being over. Sending some congratulatory love to you hard working (and still broke) students for the end of a grueling school year!

To celebrate, as you can see, I rewarded myself with a second tattoo. I chose cherry blossoms because in Japan, they are the symbol for peace and because of their short lifespan, it is a reminder that life is short. Carpe Diem.
This is a dedication piece to my support system. To all of those who have helped me blossom into the woman I am today, thank you. This doesn’t mean that I’m done growing.

That tattoo is freaking gorgeous! The symbolism behind it too, is so sweet. To carry a piece of the experience around, as well as gain a new driven perspective on life is amazing. Life is indeed short; seize the day, as they say 🙂

Thank you so much! The process of getting it carried a lot of weight as well but I think it adds onto the story behind it. I figured that since your body is a temple, might as well decorate it beautifully. I hope I've delivered perspective or inspiration through this!
