If there was anything I was looking forward to when I visited Japan, it was to be decked out as a full-fledged geisha while in Gion, which is a hotspot for the geisha community. I think I've always had a subconscious attraction to geishas and their grace, and much of my study centered around the history of them. I've been wanting to try on different conceptual hats as of late and was inspired to bring my love for Japanese culture to life. Sadly, my dreams of becoming Japan's most renowned geisha of all time never happened, but it did for this shoot. Although this may not be a traditional kimono, it still made me feel more than elegant.
